This does bring up one other question of should true end be required in any%? Momodora 3 required you to get the good end as well for Any%, and you can make the argue that you're not beating the game unless you fight phase 3 of the final boss and see the credits.

Gloomy, challenging, and only occasionally unfair, Momodora is a fantastic adventure with a fun story and lots of secrets to uncover. You can also upload and share your favorite Momodora: Reverie Under.

That being said I think we should probably just go back to RTA since starting time on file select and ending on final hit is such a universal timing method, and won't confuse anybody. Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is a triumphant release, capturing all the nostalgic wonder of 8-bit platforming within a very unique shell. This started as something to make runs more easily comparable but it's just ended up being a hassle, so sorry about that, it was pretty much just my fault. Also you can only go into NG+ to get an accurate IGT if you get true end, so that stipulation was also added to runs. I didn't think that would be an issue at first, but it's been kind of a hassle to work with since most people are still quitting to the main menu to check IGT without going into NG+, so their IGT doesn't include the final boss. However using IGT is still a little clunky because your IGT doesn't count the final boss unless you start NG+ and the game saves after giving you control of Kaho. Originally we were going to use RTA, but later decided that using IGT would be nice so different computer performance wouldn't be an issue.

A couple runners and I have been going over this for the past two days and I think we've finally come to a conclusion.
